buy me jewelry, buy me love

Being that today is LOVE day and all, I couldn't resist posting. Also, my best friend's Golden Birthday is coming up soon and my mission is to find her the perfect gold ring! I've been obsessing over this task, and all the while finding more and more gorgeous jewelry to win my heart! Here are some gems I've come across.

This is my icon of inspiration for Jenn. Its a Mignon Faget, too bad its $1,200!
I have recently discovered my love for Betsey Johnson! Betsey Johnson anything that is. But jewelry is more readily affordable than the lavish dresses. I would love this ring because it would be like Valentines day all year round! Course with the amount of red that I wear, it kinda is.

I am including examples of jewelry that I wore today, because they mean something. Which is why I love getting jewelry as gifts so much, because you can always think of that person when you wear it.
Jenn bought me these earrings as part of my Christmas gift last year. I guess you could say buying jewelry for each other is one of our "things".
This Guess ring, has such a unique story. When I was about four years old, I had a best friend named, Jenny, coincidentally :). I used to sing her this song that says "Make new friends, but keep the old...one is silver and the others gold". Jenny and I kept touch til we were teenagers, but then lost touch. Through Facebook we were able to find each other, now at the age of 28! And we are still just that, best friends. She sent me this ring for my birthday! Now I get to wear it and think of her proudly!

It is stories like this that make Valentines day fun, that make shopping fun, that extend friendships to items we put on our bodies. Its something to celebrate!

a dear friend

her name is Naomi. I met her on my first day at Wildflower Montessori School, August of 2007. above is a picture from that time...

She's from Massachusetts and we hit it off ever since that day, felt a common bond with the same name and all. She was with me during a real hard time in my life, even one of the hardest days i've had thus far. she kept in touch with me when i moved away, and now we have been back together again in Ruston, at the same school again, and we are neighbors! Both of our lives have changed quite dramatically since that first day we met.

one thing i can say about her is how big her heart is! she wants to help people, is soooo complimentary, is such a good mother to her two boys, she's very sacrificing, almost too sacrificing. i often wish she would do more for herself rather than others around her. she has grown an enormous amount over these years.

she will be moving to Texas for a fresh start, and i am brought to tears just thinking about it. i will miss her a lot! but lucky for us, the universe still wants us to be in each other's lives because she's moving to Dallas, where my grandparents live and most likely my brother and his wife will live there. so i'll still get my dose of naomi!

here are some recent hot pics of her! happy mother's day!!

love you girl

my best friends' day

this is my dear, awesome best friend in the world Jenn! it was her 28th birthday this past march. and we had the THE most special day! her husband let me spend the whole day with her! she came over with her two children that morning. it was close to easter so i got 28 eggs and hid them all over my house and inside each egg was one thing i love about her. the kids found the eggs and jenn glued the pieces of love on a big sheet of paper, to refer back to when feeling down. then her wonderful husband came and picked up the kids, so we could be just us!

ever since college jenn and i would make CD mixes called N&Jenn. she doesn't have quite the time to dedicate to keeping up with new, or even old music anymore, so i made her a Best of N&Jenn CD! then i made her her favorite salad for lunch. and our favorite dessert warm brownies with ice cream.

then we went to Monroe (a bigger city 30 minutes away from Ruston) and went shopping! i helped her pick out a black dress! then came back home and went around Ruston taking pictures, like we used to do in college. the whole day about 9 years ago, was just a typical day in our lives. shop, talk, take pics, eat bad food. it was sooo refreshing and so much fun! also her sister in law took the kids in the afternoon so that helped us feel so free and not worried about time or anything.

i love this girl and am so grateful for her influence in my life! i don't think i'd be the same without her. She is one of the most selfless, giving people i know.
